Black Hole Vu+ Solo+ VU+ Uno+ VU+ DUO + VU+ Ultimo 1.7.0 Multiboot Full Backup

There are 2 big news items in this Black Hole release.
- Meoboot Version 1.0 - Full Backup utility
1) Meoboot version 1.0 is a NEW VERSION entirely recoded for kernel 3.1.1 images. This version of Meoboot is 50% faster than the old version and only compatible with images that share the new kernel 3.1.1. As you know the new kernel 3.1.1 based images have a new filesystem (Ubifs). Meoboot can extract a Ubifs filesystem and install a full image in about 4 minutes on Vu+ boxes and is much faster than old versions at startup. WARNING: THERE IS AN IMPORTANT CHANGE IN MEOBOOT 1.0: This version of Meoboot accepts images in USB.zip format and NOT in NFI format. This is because images in USB format are easier to find and much more readily available. WARNING2: This version of Meoboot accepts only 3.1.1 kernel based images.
2) New Full Backup Utility. This new Black Hole utility will complete the Black Hole tools. You can find it in the main menu. The Black Hole Full Backup will allow you to backup all your images in the original USB.zip format. This means that after you make a backup you can restore it in it's entirety, you flash your set top box with your own backup. This new feature is based on the original script of Pedro_Newbie.

BlackHole Vu+ Uno/Duo/Solo 1.6.4 Full Hdmi-Cec

Cosa c'è di nuovo ?




Il nuovo Hdmi-Cec driver della Black Hole ti permette di controllare Vu+ box e tv con un solo telecomando (telecomando della Tv).

Non tutte le televisioni sono compatibili con questa funzione. Per esempio dai nostri primi test effettuati Panasonic e Phililps sembrano non essere ancora compatibili con il nostro driver mentre il Samsung funziona perfettamente.
In ogni caso il driver della Black Hole dovrebbe funzionare con tutti gli ultimi modelli di Televisori Samsung(Anynet+) e altre marche come ad esempio il Sony Bravia KDL40EX402.
A questo proposito, dato che non possiamo testare tutti gli ultimi modelli di televisori vi preghiamo di aiutarci con un piccolo report dei vostri test facendoci sapere se il driver funziona e con che modello lo avete testato.


Istruzioni per connettere il box alla Tv via Hdmi-Cec:
1) Entrate nel menu del vostro televisore cercate la sezione Hdmi-Cec ed abilitate tutte le opzioni (Se non avete una sezione Hdmi-Cec il vs tv non è compatibile).
2) Entrate nel pannello Hdmi-Cec Setup della Black Hole (blu->blu->Black Hole Hdmi Cec: Configurate la porta Hdmi attraverso cui il vostro Box è attaccato alla Tv ed abilitate la prima opzione in alto (enable Bh Hdmi-Cec).
3) Cliccate sul bottone rosso e il vostro box tenterà automaticamente la connessione con la vostra Tv.
Tutto fatto. Se la vostra Tv è compatibile potrete ora controllare anche il Vu+ box dal telecomando Tv.
Attenzione: Se il vostro Box non è connesso via Hdmi direttamente alla Tv ma ad un amplificatore dovete selezionare le opzioni specifiche nella voce "Box connected to port".

Istruzioni per connettere il box alla tua TV HDMI-CEC compatibile:

1) entra nel menu Opzioni della tua TV ed abilita tutte le opzioni riguardanti l'HDMI-CEC

2) entra nel pannello Black Hole HDMI-CEC (blu->blu->Black Hole HDMI CEC) e configura in questa schermata la corretta porta HDMI ed abilita il BH HDMI CEC.

3) Premi il pulsante Salva (rosso) e il tuo box tenterà di connettersi con la tua TV.

Finito! Se la tua TV è compatibile, ptorai controllare il box e la TV con il telecomando di questa ultima!

Attenzione: bisogna selezionare la corretta porta HDMI se il proprio box è collegato a un sintoamplificatore!

About new feature Tuner Server:
This feature will allow you to share the tuners of this box with another Vu+ box, a PC, a Ps3 and/or a compatible UPnP device in your home network.
The server will build a virtual channels list in the folder /media/hdd/tuner on this box.
You can access the tuner(s) of this box from clients on your internal lan using nfs, cifs, UPnP or any other network mountpoint.
The tuner of the server (this box) has to be avaliable. This means that if you have ony one tuner in your box you can only stream the channel you are viewing (or any channel you choose if your box is in standby).
Remember to select the correct Audio track in the audio menu if there is no audio or the wrong language is streaming.
NOTE: The sever is built, based on your current ip and the current channel list of this box. If you change your ip or your channel list is updated, you will need to rebuild the server database.





After the server has been built you can access it from the Media Player of the client.
1) To connect via lan you have to mount the /media/hdd folder of this box in the client /media/hdd folder. Then you can access the tuners server channel list from the client Media player -> Harddisk -> tuner.
2) To connect via UPnP you have to start Mediatomb on this box and then start Djmount on the client. Then you can access the tuners server channel list for the client Media Player -> DLNA -> MediaTomb -> playlists.
You can access via the client Media Player, the channel list on the server:




Warning: because UPnP Mediatomb uses alot of system resources it is STRONGLY suggested you connect to the Tuner server via Lan and not via UPnP.
NOTE about UPnP: Because UPnP requires alot of memory, you should only use it if you need to access your box from a PS3 or other device that cannot be mounted via Lan. Also, After the server has been built we strongly suggest you delete the Bouquets directory that are not really needed BEFORE you start Mediatomb. This will save alot of memory and resources..
If you want to use UPnP remember that Mediatomb will take some time to import all the channels in the database. Connect to the Mediatomb webif to follow the importing progress when you start Mediatomb for the first time.
To share your Vu+ box hdd in the easiest way possible, the Black Hole mount wizard has been removed and substituted with the default network wizard and mount manager.
The Nfs Panel has also changed. Now you won't need to provide complicated Nfs settings to activate client and server on your boxes. The NFS server is now fully auto-configured and enabled by default and you can use it like cifs and samba to simply mount the device.

For this reason the Usb dtt panel has been removed, because it is no longer needed.

THE WIRELESS management has been changed to use the Vuplus proprietary system plugin and Wpa supplicant have been updated
to the latest version.
The HDMI-CEC panel has been removed because Black Hole firmware has switched to native Vuplus Hdmi-Cec implementation.
So you can now find Hdmi-Cec config in the plugins list.

N.B.: I vecchi backup di dati, impostazioni e driver fatti con la funzione PERSONAL BACKUP dell'immagine Blackhole non vanno bene per questa nuova release perchè con il nuovo kernel è cambiata la struttura dell'immagine.
Chi la vuole installare deve ripartire e riconfigurare tutto da ZERO, dopo può rifare il backup e riutilizzarlo per le prossime release.

Aggiungo inoltre che l'immagine per VU+ Solo non è ancora stata fatta perchè necessità dell'update del bootloader per il nuovo kernel.
Appena sarà reso disponibile dalla VU+ ci sarà l'mmagine Blackhole 1.6.7 per VU+ Solo
